Creating and Publishing a Competition
Overview
As an organizer on FairArena, you can create hackathons, quizzes, design contests, hiring challenges, essay competitions, and more. This guide walks you through the complete setup process.
Step 1: Access Your Organizer Dashboard
Log in to FairArena and navigate to your Organizer Dashboard. Click New Competition to begin.
Step 2: Basic Details
Fill in the following required fields:
- Competition Title — A clear, engaging name for your competition
- Short Description — A 1-2 sentence summary shown in search results
- Full Description — Complete competition details, rules, and expectations
- Competition Type — Individual, Team, or Both
- Category — Technology, Business, Creative Arts, Education, etc.
- Banner Image — Upload a 1200x630px image to make your listing visually appealing
Step 3: Eligibility and Requirements
- Set age restrictions if applicable
- Define geographic eligibility: Global, specific country, or region
- Set required skills or qualifications
- Specify team size limits for team competitions
Step 4: Timeline
- Registration Opens — Date and time when participants can start registering
- Registration Closes — Last date for new registrations
- Submission Deadline — When participants must submit their work
- Results Announcement — Planned date for announcing winners
Step 5: Prizes and Rewards
- Add cash prizes, certificates, internship offers, or custom rewards
- Specify prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and honorable mentions
- Add sponsor logos if applicable
Step 6: Judging Configuration
- Add judging criteria with names and percentage weights (must total 100%)
- Enable or disable AI-assisted pre-scoring
- Choose blind judging (identities hidden from judges) or open judging
- Invite judges by email directly from your dashboard
Step 7: Submission Settings
- Define accepted submission formats: PDF, ZIP, URL, video link, etc.
- Set maximum file size limits
- Add optional submission form questions
- Enable document signing requirements if needed
Step 8: Registration Fee (Optional)
If your competition has a registration fee, configure it in the Pricing section. FairArena supports payments via Razorpay, Stripe, and other major gateways.
Step 9: Review and Publish
Click Preview to see how your competition listing looks to participants. Once satisfied, click Publish to make it live. You can also schedule publication for a future date.
After Publishing
- Share your competition URL on social media, email, and your website
- Monitor registrations and submissions from your dashboard in real time
- Use the Announcements feature to send updates to all registered participants
