AI-Powered Judging Explained
What Is AI-Powered Judging?
FairArena integrates AI to assist human judges in evaluating submissions. The AI does not replace human judgment — it augments it by pre-screening entries, flagging anomalies, and providing initial scoring suggestions.
How It Works
- When judging begins, the AI analyzes each submission against the competition's judging criteria
- It generates an AI Score suggestion for each criterion
- Human judges see the AI's suggested scores but are free to override them
- Final scores are always determined by human judges
- Benefits
- Reduces unconscious bias by providing an objective baseline
- Speeds up judging for large competitions
- Flags potentially plagiarized or low-quality submissions
- Ensures consistency across all submissions
- What the AI Evaluates
- Written submissions: clarity, originality, structure, and relevance
- Code submissions: functionality, code quality, documentation, innovation
- Presentation files: visual design, content depth, persuasiveness
- Enabling or Disabling AI Judging
- Organizers can enable or disable AI-assisted judging in the Judging Configuration section. AI judging is available on Starter and Pro plans.
- Privacy and Transparency
- AI scores are clearly labeled as AI-suggested and not final. Contestants are never evaluated solely by AI.
